Gilbert F. Stump, age 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born on July 2, 1950, in Union City, Ohio, to Raymond and Doris Stump, Gilbert lived a life defined by love, dedication, and hard work. He will be remembered most for his devotion to providing for his family and his years of service to others. After retiring, he found great joy in working as a substitute janitor for Hamilton Local Schools, where he formed lasting friendships and enjoyed giving back to the community.

Gilbert especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren-whether collecting coins, sharing stories from his younger years, or simply enjoying their company. His greatest pride was in the family he built and the love he shared with them.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Stump; his children Amanda Hancock-Webb (Robert Webb), Joseph Hancock (Becky Hancock), and Talia Batchelder (Damon Batchelder); 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles Stump; and his sister, Katherine Stump. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Doris Stump, and his son, Clayton Stump (Cindy King-Stump).

Visitation for Gilbert will be held on Sunday, October 5, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home, 587 Main Street, Groveport, Ohio 43125. A funeral service to honor Gilbert's life will be held Monday, October 6, at 12:00 p.m. Giles Richardson officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Ohio State University Medical Center for their compassionate care and support. Gilbert will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
