Gilberto Cruz Morales, born on February 13, 1957, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, departed this life on August 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy characterized by love, dedication, and cherished memories. Known affectionately to many, Gilberto brought joy to those around him with his warm personality and gentle spirit.
A devoted father, Gilberto took immense pride in his children: Gilberto Jr., who is married to Tiffany Gilbert; Johnathan, married to Elaine; Yashira; Dereck; and Neysha. He found great happiness in watching them grow and flourish into remarkable individuals, often reflecting on his proudest accomplishments as the lives he nurtured and loved.
Gilberto also cherished his role as a grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Sophia, Arolea, Dereck Jr., and Inara. They held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed spending time creating memories with them, which will be forever etched in their minds.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Julia and Margarita Cruz, whose bond with him was one of strength and support throughout his life.
Gilberto's interests included riding his bike around the neighborhood, a pastime that highlighted his appreciation for the simple joys in life. His commitment to family and enjoyment of outdoor activities spoke to the essence of who he was—a man who embraced both adventure and the warmth of companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio and Maria Magdalena Morales, his brother Albert Cruz, and his sister Naradia Cruz, all of whom he remembered fondly.
As we gather to remember Gilberto Cruz Morales, we celebrate a life filled with love, joy, and a deep commitment to family, a legacy that will continue through those who carry his memory forward.
