New Comer Cremations & Funerals - Westside LocationPaul Needell, a devoted friend and dedicated sports enthusiast, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. Born on December 27, 1944, Paul lived a life marked by kindness, a joyful spirit, and a readiness to support those around him whenever they called upon him.
Paul’s professional journey was distinguished by his 33 years of service as a film slicer at Kodak, where his commitment and skill earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Throughout his career, Paul maintained a happy and friendly personality, making him a treasured figure both in the workplace and his wider community.
Outside of work, Paul was passionate about golfing, bicycling, and sports, with an unwavering allegiance to the Buffalo Bills. He delighted in the camaraderie shared as a season ticket holder for the Bills, cherishing the moments spent with friends and family—whether celebrating triumphs or mourning losses together after games. These gatherings reflected Paul’s deep connection to his loved ones and his cherished sense of community.
Paul is remembered by his son, Roger Needell; his brother, Thomas Needell; his sister, Donna (Ron) Cassidy; along with his niece, Amy (Van) Cowles; nephews Aaron Needell, Michael Cassidy, and Jerod Cassidy; and the extended Ciciotti Family. Among his closest companions were his dear friend Joyce and his buddy Justin, who all held Paul in great affection.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Richard and Elizabeth Needell, and his son, Troy Needell, whose memories remain forever in the hearts of those who knew them.
It is with heartfelt respect that Paul’s life will be commemorated through a visitation and memorial service held at the New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626, United States. The visitation will take place on April 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed immediately by a memorial service at 6:00 PM.
Paul’s legacy of warmth, dedication, and joyous spirit continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lollypop Farm or Strong Memorial Hospital's Palliative Care Fund.
