Gilberto G. Zaragoza, born on January 15, 1936, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, at the age of 88. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Gilberto's life was a testament to his unwavering love for his family and his deep commitment to his faith.
Gilberto shared a beautiful 65-year marriage with his beloved wife, Carmen T. Zaragoza. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising five children: Gilbert Zaragoza Jr. (Blanche Zaragoza), Danny Zaragoza (Maryann Zaragoza), Jerry Zaragoza (Cindy Zaragoza), Norma Jean Zaragoza, and Roland Zaragoza. He was a proud grandfather to Daniel Zaragoza, Crystal Villarreal, Stephanie Zaragoza, Kristine Zaragoza, David Zaragoza, Benjamin Zaragoza, Randy Zaragoza, Brandon Zaragoza, Nicholas Zaragoza-Perez, Lauren Alfaro, Marissa Zaragoza, and Alexis Zaragoza. His legacy also extends to several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Perez, who now embraces him in eternal peace.
Gilberto worked for 40 years at the H-E-B meat market, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, Gilberto cherished Sundays at church, a tradition he never missed. He especially loved starting each morning with coffee alongside his wife and children. His fondness for westerns was well known, as was his sweet tooth-he never turned down his favorite treats.
Gilberto will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
