Gilda Sue Guynn McIntosh, age 77, a cherished resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Life Care Center of Columbia.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Parkway Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Roberts officiating. The family will welcome friends at the church from 3:00 pm until the start of the service. Heritage Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Born on April 13, 1947, in Pearisburg, Virginia, Gilda was the daughter of the late Frank Marvin Guynn, Sr., and the late Neva Viola Brown Baggett Guynn. She earned her Nursing Degree and Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Northwest Missouri State University while raising her three daughters, demonstrating resilience and dedication to both her family and her career. Gilda went on to serve as a Director of Nursing in Missouri, where her compassionate nature shone brightly.
Gilda had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many joyful hours fishing and practicing archery. Known for her green thumb, she had a unique ability to make anything grow. Her optimism and willingness to help anyone in need made her a beloved friend and family member. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Gilda is survived by her loving daughters, Tammy Leigh Merritt, Paige Michelle Merritt, and Stacy Sue Merritt; her brother, Frank Marvin Guynn, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Brittney Wagner, Neva O'Neal, Jessica Indermuehle, Josi Indermuehle, and Jennifer Indermuehle. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her half-brothers, Barry (Beverly) Guynn, Terry Guynn, and Todd (Melissa) Guynn.
