Gina Marie Freedman

On October 27, 2025 Gina passed away at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Philadelphia, Gina grew up in the Sicklerville area of Southern New Jersey, and from an early age displayed both a love of life and a love for others. Gina's parents operated an Italian restaurant for ten years and she was more than happy to embrace the role of caretaker for her younger sisters, as well as eventually help out at the restaurant when she was old enough. This clearly led to her fondness for cooking and baking as she was a maestro in the kitchen. She developed a passion for dance and continued to perform and compete well into her teenage years. After attending Paul VI High School she would go on to graduate from Rutgers University-Camden in May,2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

It was around this time that Gina began to work at Animo Juice, in Haddonfield, NJ, where she would meet her future husband. They would be married in August, 2008 and spend 17 memorable years together. Gina had an innate sense of style when it came to both fashion and design. She had a subscription to Architectural Digest, she collected and studied books on everything from makeup application to furniture and interior design, and loved to collect rare pieces of furniture and art, a passion she willingly shared with her husband Joe. Gina had a nomadic and adventurous spirit, squeezing every ounce of juice she could out of life. She loved tattoos, and never could wait to get the next one, each more beautiful than the previous. Gina cherished so many moments in life, from a walk in the park to a drive in the country, or a visit with her beloved nephews, and she was always present with her company. Gina had a beautiful soul and would embrace with such affection anyone who truly saw her, regardless of whether it was a cashier at a Walmart in Texas, a maintenance person from one of her many former residences, or a bartender at one of her favorite watering holes. Anyone who knew her knows how truly special she was and how missed she will be.

Gina was predeceased by her beloved mother, Sharon Freedman (nee Palmer). She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 17 years, Joseph Gentlesk; her father Frank Freedman; her sisters, Chelsea Stein and Nicole Freedman; her three nephews, Graham Stein, Dimitri Stein(Godson) and Wes Rodriguez, along with her extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, Nov 14th from 9:30 AM-10:45 AM at Christ the King Church, 200 Windsor Lane (at Wood Lane), Haddonfield, NJ, where her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM.
