Ginger Marie James Munroe, age 66 of Buchanan, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025. Born in Miami, Florida, on September 2, 1958, she was the daughter of Louise Patterson James and the late Dwight James. In addition to her father, Ginger is preceded in death by her brother, Jesse James.
Growing up in Florida, Ginger loved the beach and camping. Ever an outdoorsy country girl, she enjoyed working outside with her flowers and walking her dogs, her faithful companions, Lucy and Ladybug. A devoted mother and grandmother, Ginger loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Her love of children also showed in her work at the cafeteria at Haralson County Middle School. She was also a faithful member of Open Door Baptist Church in Buchanan. Her family will miss her dearly.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Christy & Chris Turner of Chapin, South Carolina; her precious grandchildren, Lauren, Avery and Emerson Turner; and her husband, Alan Munroe. Also surviving are her sisters, Marsha (David) Cooper and Linda (Mike) McGovern; and her brother, Frank James, all of Florida; as well as other extended family members and her friends.
Funeral services for Ginger Munroe will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Reverend Rodney Wilburn officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
According to her wishes, Ginger will be cremated following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Ginger's church: Open Door Baptist Church, PO Box 752, Buchanan, GA 30113.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is honored to serve the Munroe family.
