MATTHEW MUNROE Obituary
Matthew's true passions in life were music and food. A proud and lifelong Dead Head, he traveled far and wide to see the Grateful Dead and Phish-more times than he could ever count. His love for music was matched only by his joy in creating meals that brought people together.
With a career spanning nearly three decades in the restaurant and catering industry, Matthew worked his way from line cook to Executive Chef. His culinary talents, creativity, and warm spirit left a lasting impression on countless colleagues and diners over the years.
Matthew will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Berry-McGreevy-Martens Funeral Home, 26691 Detroit Rd., Westlake, OH 44145. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 32929 Lake Rd, Avon Lake, OH 44012 at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 15.
Memorial gifts may be made to Haven Makers Inc., 377 Lear Rd. Box 157, Avon Lake, OH 44012.

Debbie you know that I feel the loss that you are going through. Losing a child is a loss that should never happen.

I just can't with 2025 anymore. I've lost too many people in the 20's and they're not even halfway over. Matthew you were literally my best friend in high-school and some years after. You helped shape me as a person in ways I can not explain or thank you for. I miss you and I love you. If there's a such thing as an after life I hope you are finding it a comfort. I wish you a truly grand concert for all of eternity. Say high to Jerry from all of us.

Matt was an amazing chef and loving father figure to the Marotta boys. I am thankful to him for allowing me to be a part of his family. He will be missed. Sending my condolences to his mother and loved ones.
