Ginger Utecht Obituary
Ginger was born on June 24, 1946 at Oakes, ND to Magnus and Virginia (Putman) Anderson.
She grew up on a farm near Gwinner, ND and graduated from North Sargent High School in 1964. Ginger went on to attend Valley City State College in Valley City, ND. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1968.
On March 1, 1968, she was united in marriage to Rodney LeRoy Utecht at Gwinner, ND.
Ginger taught 3rd grade at Lisbon Public School in Lisbon, ND for one year from 1968-1969. In August of 1969 Rod and Ginger moved to Michigan, ND where she taught 1st grade for four years before they moved back to Gwinner, ND in 1973. Ginger worked at Bobcat Company for 30 years before she retired in 2006.
Ginger was an active member of the G.A Church in Gwinner, ND where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Altar Guild.
Her hobbies included riding snowmobiles & ATV's, fishing, ceramics, quilting & sewing, and spending time outside taking care of her flowers.
What Ginger enjoyed the most was her family and her three wonderful grandchildren.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jesse.
Ginger leaves behind her spouse, Rod Utecht; two grandsons, Nate Utecht (Christine Chase) and Schuyler Utecht (Carli Merkel); a granddaughter Harleigh Helland (Justin Helland); a great granddaughter Harper; a sister, Ginny Radar (Rob Radar); a brother Dean Anderson (Verna Anderson); and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for both Ginger and Rodney will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church in Gwinner. Online guestbook signing can be done here.
