Robert William Utecht

Robert William Utecht, lovingly known by all as Uncle Rob and Robo, passed peacefully from this life at his home, with his best friend Dana at his side. Robert was born September 6, 1957 and entered into eternal rest October 24, 2025 at the age of 68. Robert is the son of the late Helen Utecht and Renaldo Hernandez, Sr. and preceded in death by his son, Andrew Utecht. Robert was born in San Fernando, CA and moved to Buras, LA where he resided for the last 25+yrs. Robert is survived by his beloved siblings, brother Reynaldo Hernandez, sisters, Tammy Gill (Bill), and Cynthia Kemp (Jay). Robert is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Utecht, grandchildren, Amethyst, Carissa & Haily and (Andrews) Siren, Zell, Leon. Robert was a prominent figure in the lives of his many nieces and nephews and shared a special bond with them all. Reynelle (Kapono), Susanna, (Ben), Michael (Mackenzie), Lorina (Jonathan) Heather, Chris, Khristina, Sonny (Rebecca), Chantel (Jacob), Sophia (Tyler), Matthew and Ricky (Bailey). Robert is also survived by (22) great nieces and nephews, several cousins, other relatives and friends. Robert served for his country in the United States Army, ranked E-4. Robert had a unique ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and generous spirit. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Roberts final resting place will be at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 3488 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA. Arrangements entrusted to Tharp Funeral Home.
