Gisele Rachelle Tawil, passed away November 30, 2024. Gisele was born in Fez, Morocco and immigrated to the US in the 1950's. She was 95 years old. Gisele is survived by two children, a son, Maurice Tawil and his wife Anita, of Falls Church, Virginia and a daughter, Liliane Drago, of White Plains, NY, two brothers, Jean-Paul Amsellem of Washington DC and Norbert Amsellem of Chevy Chase, MD, and a sister, Sylvie Zawatsky, of Potomac, MD, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Gisele was a resident of Falls Church, VA for the last 50 years. She was a beloved French teacher for 10 years and the office manager at the Bistro Francais in Georgetown for 40 years. Gisele will be most remembered for being a loving, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. The meals she expertly and lovingly prepared to gather her family and friends in her home will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2nd, at 11am, at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery (Adelphi, MD).
Following the service, lunch has been generously provided by Irene, David, Mac, Joyce and Shelly at Magen David Sephardic Congregation - 11215 Woodglen Drive, North Bethesda MD 20852.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to Magen David Sephardic Congregation.
