Mrs. Giuseppa Cresta, 82, of Wakefield passed away Saturday at the Bear Hill Nursing Home in Stoneham. She was the beloved wife of the late Soccorso Cresta. Mrs. Cresta was born and educated in Castelfranci, Avellino, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Luigia (Storti) Perillo. She emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1963 settling in Wakefield where she has resided ever since. Mrs. Cresta was a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed gardening with her late husband, where they would grow and preserve the tomatoes they grew. Nothing gave her more pleasure than spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She worked at Copley Shoe and for many years at LB Evans Shoe Company before she ended her working career at Apem, here in Wakefield. She is survived by her three sons: Generoso Cresta and his wife Rita, Antonio Cresta and his wife Janet, Vincenzo Cresta and his wife Tina all of Wakefield, her sister Maria Storti and her brother Giuseppe Perillo of Italy. She was the loving grandmother of Generoso, Angela, Anthony and his wife Laura, Jena, James, Samantha, Franklin and Erica Cresta. She was the great-grandmother of Bryton, Anthony and Josephine Cresta. Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. at 11 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Pl. Boston, MA 02115, Attn: Development office. Interment will be at Forest Glade cemetery in Wakefield.
