Giuseppe "Joe" Gentile

Giuseppe "Joe" Gentile, 93, originally of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, and a longtime resident of Yonkers, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 29, 2026.

Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mildred "Millie" Gentile. He is survived by his loving children, Theresa DellaRipa (Dominick DellaRipa), AnnMarie Saltarelli (John Saltarelli), and Joseph Gentile. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Danielle Gentile (Conner Alexander), Joseph Gentile, Gabriella Gentile, Michael Gentile, Dominick DellaRipa (Coral DellaRipa), Joseph DellaRipa, John Saltarelli Jr. (Colleen Saltarelli), Nicolas Saltarelli (Traylee Saltarelli), and Christian Saltarelli. He was also the great grandfather of John William Saltarelli.

He has been predeceased by his brothers Alphonso Gentile, Dominico Gentile, Giorgio Gentile, Ugo Gentile, and Armando Gentile, and is survived by his brother Dante Gentile.

Joe was the proud founder and owner of Gentile Construction, a highly successful construction company that reflected his remarkable work ethic, intelligence, and true talent. He loved what he did and took great pride in his hard work, vision, and company.

Beyond his accomplishments, Joe was a man who lived fully, and loved deeply. He adored his family above all else and especially cherished being a grandfather. He loved gardening, dancing, and bringing joy to those around him with his charisma, charm, warmth, and a larger-than-life presence. He was loving, kind, hardworking, intelligent, talented, and unforgettable - a truly fine and incredible man who was deeply loved by all who knew him.

Joe's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

The family will be present on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 4 to 8 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home - 732 Yonkers Avenue - Yonkers, NY 10704 (914) 375-1400. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 9:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church - 670 Yonkers Avenue - Yonkers, NY 10704. Following the Mass, Joe will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery - 280 Secor Road - Hartsdale, NY 10530.
