Gladden Lewis

Gladden Lewis, 81, of Pace, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
Gladden was born on January 10, 1941 in Bay Springs, Florida to parents, Zachariah and Eliza Safronia Lewis. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served for 3 ½ years. He married his lovely wife, Joyce Carol Bailey Lewis on June 27, 1964 at Pace Assembly of God Church. He was an electrician by trade for 32 years with the Local 676 of Pensacola.
Some of his positions included the Pace Assembly Bus Ministry Leader, Coffee House Ministry, Heritage Home House Parents, Pace Assembly and Santa Rosa County Jail Most Excellent Way Ministry Leader, State Foster Home House Parents, Sunday School Classes, Home Depot, Lewis Funeral Home and Teen Challenge, Brooklyn, New York.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Marlin Lewis; parents, Zachariah and Safronia; brothers, Wayne Lewis, Ronald Lewis and Troy Lewis and sister, Melva Attaway.
Gladden is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce; children, Jonathan (Denise) Lewis and Marcus (Margaret) Lewis; grandchildren, Taylor (Justin) Mertins, Tristan (Hannah) Lewis, Brooke (David, Jr.) Brammer and Dalton (Braé) Lewis and great-granddaughter, Rylee Ann Brammer, his brother, Billy Ray Lewis and sister, Rachel Holifield.
The family would like to recognize Denise Braswell from Emerald Coast Hospice, Pace Assembly of God Church and Lewis Funeral Home for their compassion and wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Gladden's memory to Christians United for Israel, C/O Pace Assembly of God Church, 3948 Highway 90, Pace, Florida 32571.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Pace Assembly of God Church, 3948 Highway 90, Pace, Florida 32571 with visitation from 12:00-1:00pm and service at 1:00pm with interment at Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lewis, Marcus Lewis, Tristan Lewis, Dalton Lewis, Adam Lewis, Justin Mertins, and David Brammer, Jr., with Rev. Glyn Lowery, Rev. Joey Rogers and Rev. Steve Zepp officiating.
