Gladys Ray Bond was born October 31, 1926 in Finger, TN to the union of the late Cletter and Amanda Johnson along with her twin sister. transitioned peacefully Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She attended Chester County public schools and confessed her love for Christ at an early age by joining Tillman Chapel Methodist Church. Later in life she joined Mt Zion CME Church. She worked at Granny's Kitchen and Chester County Sportswear.
She was united in holy matrimony with Louis T Bond. From that union her four cherished children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Amanda and Cletter Johnson; son: Roy Campanella; her siblings: Alice Johnson Smith, Cora Reeves, Mary Ann Taylor, Peggy Rockingham, Clarence Johnson, David Johnson, Lawrence "Buster" Johnson, James "Jim" Johnson, Arvell Johnson and Richard Johnson; grandson: Fonta Lamond Arnold,
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Willie Mays Bond, Janice Denise Bond Arnold and Katheleene Bond, all of Henderson, TN; sisters:Doris Jean Johnson of Indianapolis, IN and Arnell Francis Butler of Henderson, TN, a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves to fondly remember her numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
