Services for Gladys K. Brinkman, age 90, of Sheldon who passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at her residence in Sheldon. Her memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon with Father Siby Punnoose, officiating.
Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation will be after the graveside service in the fellowship hall of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Gladys Kathryn Brinkman the daughter of Charles and Hilda (Dittman) DeRoos was born April 19, 1935, in Sanborn, Iowa. After receiving her GED she received her nurses training at WIT in Sioux City. She received her LPN degree and worked for 5 years at the Sheldon Nursing home before working at the Primghar Care Center for 30 years retiring at the age of 75. On June 1, 1979, she was united in marriage to Robert H. Brinkman, and they made their home in Sheldon. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2007, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Gladys continued to make her home in Sheldon. She passed away at her home in Sheldon on Friday September 19, 2025, reaching the age of 90 years and 5 months.
She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon, the Guild of the church, Catholic Daughters of America, Sheldon Eagles, Tops, Merry Go-Round Club, and was an active volunteer at the Sanford Care Center until January of 2025. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her coffee dates.
Gladys is survived by a daughter-in-law Vickie McPeek of Sheldon; two grandchildren Joshua(Aimee) McPeek of Sheldon, Iowa and Aaron (Felicity) McPeek of Sheldon, Iowa a step-grandchild Mike Addengast in Oklahoma; step-children Debra (Mark) Johnson of Sheldon; Tom (Brenda) Brinkman of Centerville, Utah a step daughter-in-law Lori Brinkman of Sanborn, Iowa also step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren; one brother Del DeRoos of Athol, Idaho; special friends Dan and Norma Budden and Ray and Carol Schwebach special friend and neighbor Ed Van Meeteren also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, a son Bill McPeek, stepson Rick Brinkman, Stepdaughter, Shelly Vander Tuig, one brother, one sister, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Gladys wanted to express her gratitude to Deb Johnson for her excellent end of life care.
