Lois B. Kreykes
Services for Lois B. Kreykes, age 100, of Sheldon who passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon. Her celebration of life will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon with Pastor Dave Van Kley, officiating.

A private family burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation will be after 4 P.M. with family present from 5:30 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon.
LOIS B. KREYKES
Lois Bernice Kreykes, the daughter of Arie and Minnie (Beltman) Lucas was born on December 15, 1924, in Sheldon, Iowa. She attended Sheldon Schools, graduating in 1941, and continued her education at Sheldon Junior College earning her teaching certificate. She began teaching in 1943 for three years in a one-room schoolhouse. She met Gerald Kreykes and the two were married on February 14, 1946. To this union four children were born, Jerry, Arlin, Loren and Donna. Gerald and Lois farmed around Sheldon their whole married life living north and south of Sheldon. She was known for her organizational skills and accounting and record keeping for the farm operation and in all of life.
She was an avid reader and read to Sanford Care residents for many years. In 1986 they moved to Sheldon. Gerald preceded Lois in death on June 16, 2012. Lois remained in Sheldon before moving to Fieldcrest in November of 2021. Lois passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Fieldcrest Assisted Living at the age of 100 years, 9 months, and 11 days.
Lois was a charter member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon. She played piano and organ for church beginning at the age of 16. She enjoyed gardening and canning. Most of all she loved being a housewife, caring for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Jerry and Bev Kreykes, Arlin and Dee Kreykes all of Sheldon, Loren and Lori Kreykes of Pleasantville, Iowa and Donna and Tim Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Mark (Angela) Kreykes, Teresa Kreykes, Todd (Erica) Kreykes, Renae (Brad) Waugh, Nathan (Corissa) Pacillas Smith, Tami (Ben) Benda, Michelle (Peter) Robinson, Tylene (Mark) Lucas, Lisa (Pete) Hoelsema, Anna Kreykes, Amy (Morgan) Spoelstra, Beth Kreykes, and Sarah (Matt) Tiersma; 13 great grandchildren; also other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Henrietta (Bill) Postma, Emerson (Waltera) Lucas, Bill (Marie) Lucas, Emma (Pete) Pesaresi, Howard (Janice) Lucas, Adrian (Carol) Lucas; in-laws, John (Dell) Kreykes, Elmer (June) Kreykes, Frank (Annabelle) Kreykes, and Marjorie (Jerold) Dykstra
