It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Gladys Beatrice Evans's passing. She was born on January 4, 1936, in Bedias, TX, to T.J. and Helen Russell, and passed away on May 29, 2025, at the age of 89 at Hospice of Houston Texas. Gladys, known as Bea, played varsity basketball in high school in Columbia, LA. Bea was fond of sports, music, dancing, and poker. She enjoyed having drinks with family and friends. Bea adored feeding her loved ones. She was a mean rib master on the grill along with family favorites of homemade baked beans, potato salad, gumbo, fried fish, hush puppies and more. Bea was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great grandmother. She lived a full and vibrant life and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth. Bea was an amazing seamstress and quilt maker. Many family and friends will continue to enjoy her talents in the years to come. Beatrice is preceded in death by T.J. and Helen Russell (father and mother), Jerry Russell (brother), Lena Davis (sister), Jo Corley (sister), Kenneth Seay (son), KaliAnn Castillo (granddaughter), and Cody Massey (grandson). Bea is survived by Johnnie Pearl and Al Binger (sister and brother-in-law), Wayne Russell (brother) and her children Patsy Eliers, Howard and Stacy Seay, Lisa and Chip Boxley, James and Christina Seay, Nicole Castillo, Lee and Debbie Evans, along with 30 nieces and nephews, 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 10 great, great-grandchildren.
