Gladys Marie Howarth

Gladys Marie Howarth, age 98, Passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ to the late Nicholas and Minnie Corbo, Gladys was a longtime resident of Morris Township, NJ before moving to Morris Plains. She worked for many years as a receptionist for Dr. Mangula in Morristown until her retirement.
Gladys was a devoted parishioner of St. Virgil's Roman Catholic Church in Morris Plains, where she was active in the Rosary Society, volunteered as a CCD instructor and CCD Principal.. A Devoted member of the Union NJ Mothers club. She was also a member of the Morris County Historical Society and generously gave her time as a volunteer at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Ret. Marine Captain George Sebastian Howarth.
She is survived by three sons: Mark Howarth (Annett), Paul Howarth (Cindy), and John Howarth (Tia); seven grandchildren: Mark Jr., Skyler, Addison, Tess, Colleen, Nicholas, and Sabastion and a great-granddaughter, Kaylee.
Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church located at 63 E. Main Street, Rockaway, NJ 07866.
