Gladys (Nilsson) Johnson
June 18, 1933 - May 19, 2025
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys (Nilsson) Johnson on May 19, 2025 at the age of 91 after a battle with Dementia.
Gladys is predeceased by her devoted husband of 46 years, Elving Johnson, and survived by her two grateful daughters Gloria (Johnson) Boetcher, Gail (Johnson) McNicholas; grandchildren Nicole McNicholas, Michael Chase McNicholas; great grandchildren Emma and Raiden; son-in-laws Paul Boetcher and Michael McNicholas...all who will never forget the abundance of love, amazing memories and life's lessons that she brought to our lives.
Gladys lived a good, kind life and touched the lives of many. She and Elving raised their family in Palos Park, IL and ran their own advertising agency for 26 years. Upon retirement, in August 2000, they moved to Hudson, Florida.
Though Dementia stole her cognitive ability, Gladys remained loving, graceful, appreciative and full of inner strength until her peaceful passing. Gladys will be remembered for many attributes but none more so than her undying commitment to family and her enjoyment of the cherished moments spent with her two daughters and their families.
"In our hearts, you remain forever, Mom. We take comfort knowing that you are now at peace with our Lord and Savior."
The family has asked that in leu of flowers, donations be made to Zephyrhills Gulfside Hospice (Rucki Center) in Gladys's name.
