Gladys Mae Moore, beloved mother, Granny, Gigi, sister, aunt and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on January 16, 1938, in Iraan, Texas, second youngest in a family of 8 siblings. She graduated high school in Iraan where she was awarded the honor of going to State in Home Economics. She later attended Draughon’s Business College, and was valued for her diligent professional skills in the banking industry. She lived a life filled with love, family, friendships, creativity, and faith in Jesus.

Gladys was a vibrant person known for her generous love for family and friends, her fun sense of humor, and years of hosting large and festive family holiday gatherings. She enjoyed gardening, marveling at the beauty of God’s handiwork in nature. In her latter years, she expressed much beauty and love in the baby blankets she quilted for her great-grandchildren and loved being part of the ladies quilting group at First Baptist Alvord. She found joy in connecting with others, cultivating deep relationships with family and friends throughout her life. Gladys lovingly embraced her role as a grandmother, deeply adoring all her grandchildren, and to her last days she continued to pray earnestly for their salvation in the Name of Jesus.

Gladys leaves behind a legacy characterized by love and faith, one that will be carried on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit and dedication to family will forever be remembered.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, James and Jennie Dempsey; husband, Bobby Ray Moore; siblings, James Dempsey, Jr., Larry Dempsey, Frank Dempsey, infant brother James William Dempsey, sisters Marry Baker and Betty Deeds; granddaughter, Kennedy Howard; daughters-in-law, Patty Howard and Paula Howard; and son-in-law, John Bonham.
