Gladys Mildred (Garner) Todd
April 13, 1934 – October 20, 2025
Gladys Mildred (Garner) Todd was born on April 13, 1934, in East Texas and went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 20, 2025.
She later moved near Venus, Texas, where she grew up on a cotton farm and learned the value of hard work early on. On December 15, 1951, she married the love of her life, M. Glyn Todd. Together, they welcomed twin boys, Steven and Stanley, on April 25, 1953 - the joy of their lives.
Mildred was a gifted storyteller, captivating her siblings, children, and grandchildren with animated tales that seemed to never end. In 1959, the family moved to Seymour, Texas, and she pursued her passion for beauty by attending Aladdin Beauty College in Wichita Falls. She received her license in 1962 and worked as a beautician for 31 years at Beauty Temple, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives.
In 1993, the family moved to Cleburne, where Mildred worked for several years as a Social Security clerk at Green Thumb and volunteered as a hostess at the Carnegie Museum. After moving to Grandview in 2008, she became an active member of Wildwood Chapel. She found joy working with underprivileged youth, singing at church services, cooking, and watching her favorite soaps - embracing retirement with the same passion and love she brought to every part of her life.
Following a stroke in 2011, Mildred became a resident at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she lived for 14 wonderful years. She was blessed with many friendships and received loving care from a dedicated staff, for whom the family is deeply grateful.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Dona Lee (Davis) and Julius G. Garner; her beloved husband of 60 years, M. Glyn Todd; her son, Stanley E. Todd; her great-grandson, Bentley Corniel; and her siblings Dorothy Lee Webb, J. Lloyd Garner, and Agnes P. Bjerke.
She is survived by her son Steven E. Todd; grandchildren Sheila and Junior Montez, Melody and Dayton Stanford, and Matthew Todd; and great-grandchildren Cameron Taylor Garner, Makenzie and Mike Follina, Makayla and Mason Corniel, Rayna Walthall, Kinsley, Emery and Atlas Garner, River and Aspen Corniel, and Adleigh Castens.
She is also survived by her siblings Peggy A. Basham, Victor A. Garner, Diane and Don Prater, and Phyllis and John Whiteside, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Mildred touched countless lives with her joy, warmth, and kindness. She will be deeply missed, but we are comforted knowing she is now singing joyfully for her Lord.
