Glen Leon Bassett

Glen Leon Bassett of Edgewood, NM, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2025, at the age of 71.

He was born on November 17, 1953, in Albuquerque, NM, to Elmer and Marie Bassett. Glen was a lifelong resident of Edgewood, NM.

Glen graduated from Moriarty High School in 1971. He then attended TVI, which is now CNM, where he completed a course in Auto Electrical and Tune-up Mechanics. He became a general contractor and built several houses and did numerous remodels.

He also worked at Radio Shack and NAPA in Edgewood for many years.

He retired from contracting and settled into his real passion, ranching. From the time Glen was young, he enjoyed working with cattle.

He worked on a ranch in Moriarty for many years, mostly running a combine, which he really enjoyed. Simultaneously, while working other jobs, Glen had his own small ranch in Edgewood where he raised a few heads of cattle and lived a simple, happy life.

Glen was a member of Victory Faith Fellowship and in past years was the Youth Pastor and played the guitar for the music ministry.

He loved the Lord with all His heart and his life exemplified that in every area.

He was a man of honor and integrity, kindness, and peace; and he will be greatly missed by all. Glen was proceeded in death by his parents Elmer and Marie Bassett; his sister, Bernice Trumper; and his brother-in-law, Kevin Bushnell.

He is survived by his sisters: Cheryl Huppertz and her husband, Ted; Diana Bushnell and brother-in-law, Gary Trumper; his nieces and nephews: E.J. King and his wife Karen, David King, Shanda Lueras, Emily Marquez and her husband, Tony, and Samantha Trumper; great-nephews, Johnny Tapia, Nolan and Cole Marquez, Elijah Allison and one great niece, Penelope Trumper.

A memorial service will be held at Valley View Church in Edgewood to celebrate Glen’s life on August 2nd at 10:30 a.m.
