Glen served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, receiving an honorable discharge. In 1973, he earned a degree in Counseling from Bemidji State University. His interests took the family throughout the Midwest and Southwest as he tried his hand at different work: counselor, truck driver, salesman, entrepreneur, resort owner, and inventor.
He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and playing cards. Glen was known for his playful crankiness and the kindness that was never really hidden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Vern, Shirley, and Curt. He is survived by his children, Alan and Bette; six grandchildren: Andrew, Lichelle, Jonathan, Celestina, Summer, and Ryan; several great-grandchildren; his sisters Eraine and Zaida; brother-in-law Steve; sister-in-law Darlene; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Glen's memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, at the Assembly of God Missionary Fellowship, 1016 Clausen Ave. SW, Bemidji, MN 56601. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 10:30 a.m.
