Glen Hairl Cody, born on October 13, 1940, in Hiwassee, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at Caromont Health of Gaston County. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who exemplified kindness and love throughout his life.
Glen proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He is remembered for his generous spirit, always helping others, and his unwavering dedication to his family. Known for having a big heart, Glen's warmth and compassion touched the lives of many who had the privilege of knowing him.
Glen is survived by his beloved spouse, Lessie Thomas Cody; his children, Joseph Eugene Cody and wife Tina, and Glenda Cody Garland and husband Lee. He cherished his role as a brother to Clyde Cody and a sister to Linda Rabon (Hal). Glen’s legacy continues through his grandchildren: Christopher Garland (Leah), Angela Hedrick, Brandon Cody, Samuel Cody, Hunter Cody, and Michael Smith, as well as his great-grandchildren: Abigail Garland, Kiera McCall, Jessie Cody, Cody Hedrick, and Cameron Hedrick.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glen Hairl Cody, Jr.
Glen had a passion for fishing and car racing, pursuits that brought him joy and fulfillment. His love for adventure and the outdoors complemented his caring nature, making him a cherished member of the community.
A visitation will be held on September 13, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a memorial service from 3:30, both taking place at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752.
Glen Hairl Cody leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and community service that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
