Glen Ray Davidson, age 78, of Amity, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023.
He was born on February 22, 1945, in Amity, the son of Samuel Roscoe “Rock” Davidson and Camellia Mae Dollar Davidson. He was preceded in death by his son, Micah Davidson; his parents; his brother, Kenneth Davidson; and his sisters, Jo Dunn and Sharel Davidson.
Glen was Church of Christ in his faith. He was a member of the A-2 Deer Camp, and a Mason. Glen proudly spent many years working with and coaching many youths’ baseball, softball and basketball teams and enjoyed every minute of it. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving the backroads, and one of his greatest enjoyments was being a member of the round table at Trudy’s, where every day they would get all the local gossip and help to solve the world’s problems together.
Above all, Glen was a wonderful father, Papaw, brother and friend, who loved his family with all his heart. He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor and always loving to pick-on everyone. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Seth and Carey Davidson of Glenwood, Leah Davidson and her husband, Mike Simpson of Royal, Chris and Dustie Rice of Amity and Kayla and Cody Funderburk of Kirby; his grandchildren and their spouses, Cameron and Shakaela Kitchens, Brittany and B.J. Bankhead, Kimberly and Brandon Null, Jade and Jantzen Bradford, Jace Rice, Tinley Rice, Cain Funderburk and Luke Funderburk; his great-grandchildren, Jayden Bradford, Kayson West, Camillia Bankhead, Jaspen Bankhead, Blake Cranford and Gage Cranford; his brothers, R.W. Davidson and his wife, Wanda, and Burt Davidson; his sisters, Cordy Smith and Patricia Wilson and her husband, Landon; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Davidson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
