Glen Everett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 31, 2023 to Jan. 3, 2024.
12/22/1953-12/24/2023

Glen Everett was born in Huntington Park, California to Francis and Patricia (Finch) Everett.

As the child of a Pearl Harbor survivor, Glen lived the life of a military kid, with several places he called home including 1950's Hawaii and a Lighthouse Station in southern California. Glen excelled in sports as a teen while attending La Habra, California schools.

As a resident of the Yuba City area for over 30 years, Glen was a mason and construction supervisor for Lamon Construction when he retired. He later worked with Tuscano Construction on the City Café, Justin's Kitchen and other local businesses.

As the Sutter Theater was restored, Glen donated many hours of labor helping bring back it's glory. In appreciation a star is being placed in his honor on Plumas St. He was pleased to hear of this before his passing.

Glen spent many hours in his woodworking shop and his furniture and decorative art reside in many local homes. A seven foot totem pole made for his sister, stands at her home in the woods of Colorado.

Glen always was a bit of a Maverick, so it's appropriate that his newest toy was a 1972 red Ford Maverick. Many hours were spent in planning it's upgrades and taking pleasure rides.

A tiny percentage of Stage 4 Lung Cancer victims survive over five years and Glen made it to more than ten. As a Peer Counselor for U.C. Davis, he mentored and supported other lung cancer victims in the years since his diagnosis and treatment.

Glen has a multitude of friends and he will be remembered as a positive, helpful, witty friend who loved his friends and family.

Glen leaves to mourn, his sister Karen Hilborn (Bob) of Colorado, his children Tarynn Everett (Lindzi) of AZ, Lauren Anderson (Shawn), Lesley O'Neal (Kyle), his step children Rob Kelley (Stephanie), and Sara Kelley of Yuba City. Grandchildren include Hudson and Paxton Everett, Carley, Whitney and Molly O'Neal, Teddy and Paige Anderson, and Paige and Piper Kelley. He also leaves his two nephews Alexander (Jen) and Nicholas Hilborn of Colorado.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the near future. If desired, a donation to the American Cancer Society in his honor, would be appreciated.

Glen was instrumental in the remodel of the Sutter Theater. He was still serving on the Board of the Yuba Sutter Arts Council when he passed away. I and many others will miss Glen's humor and wit. Please let me know when his Celebration of Life will take place. Susan Miller
