Cecil Lewis Everett, Jr. went to be with the Lord after a long battle with Parkinson's disease on Thursday, January 22nd in his home after 76 years of faithfulness to his Lord Jesus Christ and his family.

Lewis was born on April 7, 1949, in Madill, Oklahoma, to Cecil Lewis and Billye Janice Everett. Since his dad was in the Army, Lewis attended school in Heidelberg, Germany, Augusta, Georgia, then and moved to Kingston, Oklahoma at the age of 14 years old. Lewis gave his life to the Lord at the age of 14 while attending church camp and dedicated his musical abilities to God. He graduated high school in 1967 and went on to attend college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and received his bachelor's degree in music education in 1971. During his college years, he began to lead music at First Baptist Kingston in Kingston, Oklahoma which led to 58 years of music ministry. Throughout his career he served at First Baptist Church of Cyril, Oklahoma, First Baptist Church of Vinita, Oklahoma, First Baptist Church of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, First Baptist Church of Caddo, Oklahoma, First Baptist Church of Lightning Ridge near Vanoss, Oklahoma, First Baptist Church of Homer, Oklahoma, and finally First Baptist Church in Roff, Oklahoma where he retired from music ministry in 2022. In 1979 while serving in Broken Bow, Lewis welcomed his daughter Mindy into the world. Lewis was also a proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and in addition to his music ministry, he served as a transportation specialist for the Chickasaw Nation for approximately 12 years. Lewis and his wife Stephenie were married at a revival on December 27, 1991, at Lightning Ridge Baptist Church and have happily served the Lord together for 34 years as music minister and pianist.

Lewis was preceded in death by both his father and mother. He is survived by his wife Stephenie Everett of Vanoss, Oklahoma, his younger brother David Everett of Sanger, Texas, his daughter Mindy Vazquez of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and stepdaughter Tammy Cravens of Vanoss, Oklahoma.

Visitation; will be Thursday evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in DeArman/Pickard Chapel Stratford, OK.

Services; will be 1:00 PM Friday January 30, 2026 in Roff First Baptist Church Roff, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in Lightning Ridge Cemetery Vanoss, Oklahoma. Officiating ; B.C. Strickland.
