Richard W. Everett, 92, of Penn Hills, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, in Monroeville. He was born in Bradenville on Aug. 9, 1933, to the late Richard and Eleanor (Johnston) Everett. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores (Franks) Everett; and a brother, Ronald. He is survived by his sons, Daryl and Brian of Plum; and his present loving wife of 21 years, Linda Lu (Renner) Everett. Also surviving is brother, Thomas (Ellie); grandsons, Brandon (Emma) and Daniel (Rose); and daughter-in-law, Marlene. He is also blessed with three great-granddaughters, Maeve, Haven, and Madeline; nieces, Sandi, Sherry, Megan, and Jessica; and sister-in-law, Pat Ciocco. Dick graduated from Derry Township High School in 1951. While there, he lettered in three sports for three years and was a member of the National Honor Society for two years. Upon graduation, he attended Penn State for one year and then was drafted into the U.S. Army. He did basic training in Georgia and was enrolled in the radio school at Fort Monmouth, NJ. Once having finished his schooling, he was deployed to Korea to serve the remainder of his obligation. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1955, he enrolled at Indiana Teachers College, where he earned a teaching degree in mathematics and became certified as a guidance counselor. He was then employed as a mathematics teacher in the Penn Hills School District. Dick taught there from 1958 to 1985. He then became a guidance counselor until his retirement in 1992. Dick was a lifelong member of the Bradenville United Methodist Church. Over the years, he had occasion to serve on many committees. He remained very faithful to the church until his passing. Dick was an avid outdoor person. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially on Lake Erie. His love of sports included golfing. He played several times a week with different groups. He enjoyed the company and camaraderie of his fellow golfers. Dick played on local sandlot baseball teams for many years and, again, thoroughly enjoyed the companionship afforded while playing in a team sport. Remembering Richard will always be a blessing to those who knew and loved him. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, in MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Third Ave., Derry. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, with Rev. Olivia Graham as officiant, in Bradenville United Methodist Church, 5168 PA 982,
