Ralph Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by House of Law, Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Penn Hills on Jan. 24, 2026.
Ralph William Davis Jr. was called home on January 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of provision, dedication, and quiet endurance. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-great-grandfather whose life was defined by love, service, and family.

Born on November 7, 1932, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Hill District, Ralph was the son of Ralph William Davis Sr. and Bennie McClendon. Affectionately known as Billy to family, he was the second oldest among his siblings. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Frankie Mae Simpson, beginning a union that stood as a testament to true and lasting love until her passing in 2022.

Together, they raised three children: Ralph William Davis III, Gary

L. Davis, and Kimberly G. Davis.

That same year, Ralph was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving two years at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to the United States Postal Service as a mail handler, retiring in 1988.

Ralph enjoyed a simple and meaningful life-reading, dining at Eat'n Park with his wife, rooting faithfully for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and proudly finding the best deals through couponing. A deeply devoted family man, he cared for his mother, cherished his role as husband and father, and took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Frankie Mae Davis and his son Ralph William Davis III. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Gary L. Davis, daughter Kimberly G. Davis, grandchildren EbonyDawn Starks (Gregory), Lamar Davis, and Stephen Dalton (DeOnna); eight great-grandchildren Aja Gilchrist, Keynasia Dalton, Mariah Dalton, Julia Dalton, Stephen M. Dalton Jr., Genesis Davis, Nehemiah Davis, and Jeremiah Davis; one great-great-grandson Kyson Dalton; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
