With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glen Reed Jacobson, aged 70, who left us on October 22, 2024, in Portage, Utah, surrounded by his family. Born on December 20, 1953, in Ogden, Utah, to John Reed and Donna Marie Westover Jacobson, Glen lived a life marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was a proud graduate of Ben Lomond High School, Class of 1972, and served his country with honor in the Army until 1974. After completing his military service, Glen embarked on a diverse and fulfilling career, devoting 32 years to the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and contributing significantly to his community with 8 additional years of service at Walmart. Even in his later years, he remained active, showcasing his enduring work ethic and strength by tackling various odd jobs around Portage.

A man of simple pleasures, Glen found joy in fishing, hunting, camping, and tinkering with cars. He cherished the moments spent with his family, always offering affection and support in meaningful ways. Although he was wise with his resources; his love and commitment to his family were boundless, reflecting his desire to ensure their well-being and stability. Glen was also a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, through which he shared his faith and values with those around him.

Glen is survived by his beloved wife, Colleen; his daughter Aubrey (Ted) Booth; his stepchildren: Shane (Ashlee) Higley, Jeffrey Higley, Eric Ashton, Cody (Natalie) Ashton, Taunia (Cameron) Brantley, and Traci Ashton; and his cherished grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Camarie, Brookelynne, Kooper, Casey, Maci, Ozzy, HarLee, and Wyatt. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Sharon Lee Jones; his father, John Reed Jacobson; and his siblings, Barbara Jacobson-Mikolash, Jessie (Kathleen) Jacobson, and Duane (Faye) Jacobson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Westover Jacobson; his brother, Randy Dean Jacobson; his sister-in-law, Vickie Fisher; his brothers-in-law, Howard "Mick" Mikolash II and Rob Tingey and his father-in-law, Stephen E. Jones.

The viewing and service will take place on November 8th, 2024, with the viewing from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the services commencing at Noon. All services will be held at the Portage Ward Church, located at 8910 West 25800 North Street in Portage, Utah. Interment to take place in the Portage Cemetery.

Glen’s life serves as a testament to his dedication, service, and strength. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. At this time, the family expresses deep gratitude to the Hospice Team and all the doctors from the Intermountain Health Care team, who guaranteed Glen was cared for and comfortable in his final days. In addition, genuine thanks go to the Portage EMTs for their amazing efforts to attend to Glen's needs, making his passing as peaceful as possible. Finally, heartfelt appreciation is extended to Bishop Chris Hall and the Portage Church and Relief Society for the love and support shown during this time.
