Glen E. Mace, Sr., 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 27, 2025. Glen was born to the late Everitt and Myrtle (Rand) Mace on October 21, 1936, at his grandparent's farm in Lexington, Indiana. Glen met, Peggy Prewitt, his future wife of sixty-seven years at Cliff's Drive Inn on his way to work the 3rd shift at Cummins Engine Company, where he worked for thirty-two years. The couple was later married on September 7, 1957. Glen owned and operated Mace's Package Store for over forty years. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1954 where he played basketball on the Lexington Minutemen basketball team all four years of High School. Glen loved all aspects of basketball including refereeing High School and college basketball games, cheering on the Scottsburg Warriors and Warriorettes, Austin Lady Eagles, Indiana University, and most recently the Indiana Pacers. He also coached the Scott County Concrete Senior League baseball team for fourteen years including all-star teams. Glen liked bowling and was an avid golfer who passed his love of the sport to his sons, grandsons, and great grandsons. He attended Scottsburg First Baptist Church and was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge, Redman Lodge, Moose Lodge, and Sons of American Legion. Glen is survived by wife, Peggy; loving children, Penny (Kurt) DeKemper, Suanne (Larry) McCoskey, Glen Mace, Jr., Rodney Mace, and Gregory Mace; six grandchildren, Joey McCoskey, Jordan (Kimberly) McCoskey, Scott (Heather) McCoskey, Galen (Claire Carusillo) DeKemper, Tyler (Maggie Kelly) DeKemper, Kourtney (Dalton) McIntosh; six great grandchildren, Mason, Marshall, Martin, and Lilly Ann McCoskey, Osiris and Delilah DeKemper; siblings, Emma Jean Bowling, Freddie (Kaylene) Mace, Debbie (Steve) Heacock; sister in law, Joan Mace. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Mace; nephew, Gary Mace; and a grandson, Evan Scott McCoskey. Funeral service for Glen Mace will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday prior to the funeral starting at 10:00am both at the First Baptist Church. Memorial contributions can be made in Glen's name to the Lexington Alumni Scholarship Fund in c/o Collins Funeral Home. Please share memories and condolences at www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
