Ruby Burton, 71, of Austin, Indiana passed away on August 22, 2025, at home with her family by her side. She was born on February 13, 1954, in Columbus, Indiana, to the late Gordon Burton and Ramey Lucille Aldridge. Known affectionately as the neighborhood grandma, Ruby was a spunky and feisty woman who brought warmth and encouragement to those around her. She had a green thumb and a special love for gardening, particularly her beautiful roses that bloomed vibrantly in her front yard, a testament to her nurturing nature. Ruby spent her life lovingly cultivating her family, who were her greatest joy and treasure. In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her son, Rodney Chumney; one sister, Jeannie "Imogene" Burton; and one niece, Michelle Burton. Ruby is survived by five children, Frederick "Fred" (Crista) Burton, Heather Sizemore, Jodie Bryant, Dustie Martinez, and Larry (Shyanna) Sizemore all of Austin, Indiana; sister, Sue Strickland of Georgia; four brothers, Larry (Vonda) Burton, Bobby (Kathy) Burton both of Kokomo, Indiana, Barry Aldridge, and Jerry Aldridge both of Massachusetts; twelve grandchildren, Rodney, Carson, Aleah, Everett, Dominic, Harmony, Camyua, Layla, Hudson, Larry Jr. "LJ", Grayson, and Kinsley. Ruby E. Burton leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Though she may have departed this world, her vibrant spirit will continue to bloom in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Ruby's name to her family to assist with the cost of funeral arrangements in c/o Collins Funeral Home.
