Glen Ray Skagss Jr., age 67, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Glen was born on September 4, 1957, in Blue Island, Illinois, to Glen Sr. and Edith Skaggs. He began his career as a machinist and proudly dedicated nearly 50 years to the trade. He was known for his hardworking nature, mechanical skill, and unrelenting love for his family.
Glen was a man of strong faith, sharp wit, and a big heart. He had a great sense of humor, and a gift for lifting the mood in any room. Glen was incredibly kind and giving, he would do anything for the people he cared about. Above all he loved his family, God, and laughter.
Glen is survived by his children: Ursula (Robert) McNab, Eric (Sarah) Skaggs, and Matthew (Alison) Skaggs; grandchildren: Zachary (Jailin) McNab, Mackenzie McNab, Hannah McNab, Olivia Skaggs, Ella Skaggs, and Charlotte Skaggs; great-grandchild: Julian Goode; his mother: Edith Fallowfield; and sisters: Brenda (Steve) Hallberg and Ann Sylvester. Many other extended family members and friends also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Ray Skaggs Sr.
A service to celebrate Glen's life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Tinley Park, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM and resuming after the service until 5:00 PM.
He will be laid to rest on Monday, July 14th at 1:00 PM at Neoga Memorial Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois.
Memorial donations may be made in Glen's name to Calvary Baptist Church.
