Glen Earl Thompson of Hobbs, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at the age of 83. Glen served with honor in the U.S. Army. During his service, he excelled as a helicopter mechanic, a role that highlighted his overall brilliance. Following his military service, Glen returned home to build a life centered on hard work and family. Glen spent most of his career working for Cities Service working his way up from vibrator mechanic to gang pusher. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Sue Klotzbach (Michael) of Hobbs; his grandson, Ryan Glen Thompson of Hobbs; his granddaughter, Amanda Michelle Gutierrez (Bernard) of Lovington; and his sister Pamela Jane Basgall of Canton, TX. Glen also leaves behind two cherished great-granddaughters, Rhylee Akari Gutierrez and Rose Ember Gutierrez. He is now reunited in eternal rest with the love of his life, Judy Ann Thompson; his mother Burtie Reva Thompson; father Henry Benjamin Thompson; and sister Francis Sue McCombs, who preceded him in death. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the stories told by his family.
