In Loving Memory of Glenda Richardson Chavez February 20, 1962 – September 19, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Glenda Richardson Chavez, who entered eternal rest on September 19, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on February 20, 1962, in Mobile, Alabama, Glenda was the beloved daughter of Herman Richardson and Ellen Elizabeth Wilkins.
Glenda lived a full and beautiful life, marked by compassion, strength, and joy. She began her career as a travel agent, a role that allowed her to travel the world and collect memories she cherished for a lifetime. Later, she found her professional calling in the banking industry, where she worked for many years as a dedicated and respected Commercial Loan Assistant.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Rudolpho Chavez, and her loving son, Joshua Nicholas Chavez, who was the light of her life. Glenda's love for her family was unwavering, and her greatest joy came from the moments they shared together.
Glenda had a nurturing spirit and a heart made for giving. Even during her courageous battle with cancer, her first instinct was always to help others - participating in charitable acts and giving selflessly to those in need. Her grace, even in adversity, was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She filled her home and heart with warmth through her love of cooking and baking, caring for her many plants, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life, like Hallmark Christmas movies, Houston Astros games, and cheering on The University of Houston Football and Basketball teams. Her vibrant spirit shone brightest during family gatherings, holidays, and every ordinary moment made special by her presence.
A longtime parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Houston, Glenda was deeply involved in her faith and a proud member of the ACTS community. Her son Joshua attended school at St. Jerome, and the parish remained a spiritual home for their family throughout the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 9:30 AM, at St. Jerome Catholic Church (8825 Kempwood Dr,
Houston, TX 77080). Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the beautiful life of a woman whose kindness, laughter, and love will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Glenda's spirit lives on in every act of kindness, every Astros game cheered, every dish lovingly made, and in the endless love she gave so freely. Her memory is a blessing and a legacy that will never fade. We will miss your Smile Cha Cha. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Glenda, please visit our floral store.
