Glenda Craig Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. - Claysville on Dec. 2, 2025.
Glenda Lee (McPherson) Craig of Claysville, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Canonsburg after a long and courageous battle with dementia. She was born March 7, 1945, in Wheeling West Virginia, the daughter of Glenn Sturgiss McPherson and Thelma Cleoris Bonar McPherson.

Glenda grew up in Claysville and was a graduate of McGuffey High School in 1963 where she was May Queen and Head Majorette. On February 28, 1964, she married the love of her life, William Wade Craig. They were married for over sixty years. After a lifetime of love and commitment, the family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her husband who passed away weeks before on November 12.

Glenda was known for her unwavering loyalty to her family, whose needs always came before her own. She raised two children early on staying at home, then helping to put them through college by caring for the elderly in the community before working for years as a restorative aide at Presbyterian Senior Care. Two of her proudest moments were with Bill as her son and daughter were the first in the Craig family to graduate from college.

Her favorite role in her later years was being "Mimi" to her three grandchildren, attending every game, concert, or event she could, and spoiling them as much as allowable on birthdays and Christmases.

As her illness took away her ability to live the life she wanted, we will remember her for the strength she showed, the love she gave all of us, and a reminder than in struggle, there can be love and light.

Glenda was preceded in death by a sister, Metta Jean Riggle, of Pearland Texas, brother in laws Ralford Branson Riggle of Pearland, Texas, William Hennry Noble of Washington, and sister-in-law Barbara Jo Craig Noble of Washington . Surviving is a son, William Kevin (Trisha Ann Varish) Craig of South Fayette, a daughter, Rhonda Lee Craig (Jarrod) McAdoo of Greensburg, and three grandsons, Aidan James and Logan William McAdoo of Greensburg, and Ryan McPherson Craig of South Fayette.

The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Townview for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided to Glenda over the past ten years.

Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., time of service on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. (724) 663-7373 www.youngfhinc.com. Interment to follow at West Alexander Cemetery
