Glenda Hileman Obituary

Glenda Kay Hileman, age 78, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 18, 2025, at home after a two-year battle with lung cancer. A lifelong resident of Clovis, Glenda was beloved by her family, her community, and all who had the joy of knowing her.
She gave her time and heart generously, volunteering with Altrusa, First Christian Church, Meals on Wheels, and other organizations that reflected her deep passion for others. Her faith in Jesus Christ was a cornerstone of her life-especially during her brave journey with Stage IV lung cancer. Glenda's selflessness, kindness and warmth left a lasting mark on everyone around her.
Professionally, Glenda worked in bookkeeping and office management at various locations throughout her career. She was organized, dependable, and took pride in her work-earning the respect and trust of colleagues and clients alike.
She was a wonderful cook, known for her Christmas sugar cookies and peanut patties-treats that became treasured family traditions. She also enjoyed camping, card playing and gardening. Her laughter was infectious, her friendship steadfast, and her spirit full of light. She will be deeply missed by everyone that loved her.
Glenda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jim; her daughter, Jamie (Reeves) and Greg Morton; her mother, Gladys Shelton; two sisters, Johnnie Judah (Oklahoma) and Mary Reed (Texas); and six grandchildren: Collin Reeves, Spencer Morton, Tanner Morton, Hayden Reeves, Cooper Morton, and Avery Reeves. She is further survived by brother- and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Martye Hileman; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Reeves; her father, Harold Carpenter; her in-laws James and Anna Joyce Hileman; several aunts and uncles; and nephew Lawrence (Larry) Judah.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Muffley Funeral Home at 1430 N. Thornton St. in Clovis. The Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Muffley Funeral Home. The memorial service will be streamed online. A burial will follow at Mission Garden Cemetery at 2966 W. 7th St.
