Mrs. Glenda Rose Uptain, age 87
Of New Johnsonville, TN passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Humphreys County Nursing Home. She was born August 1, 1937, in Sparta, TN to Cletus and Frances Breeden Cantrell.
Rose's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love and joy, exemplified by her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Leroy Uptain, in November of 1955. Together, they created a partnership rooted in unwavering support and affection, inspiring all who knew them. Their bond was symbolic of true love, filled with laughter, shared dreams, and a deep understanding of one another.
A cherished member of her community, Rose was a devoted member at Pisgah United Methodist Church, where she found great joy and purpose in her faith. Through her involvement with the Methodist Women’s Group, she made meaningful connections and contributed to the supportive network that has enriched the lives of many.
Rose’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, dedication, and strong sense of community are a testament to the loving spirit she shared throughout her life. Her legacy is one of compassion and unwavering faith, qualities that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:30pm Sunday, June 1st at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Uptain will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday, June 1, 2025, at J. Warren Cemetery in New Johnsonville.
Interment will follow.
