Glendora Kluth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home on Jan. 23, 2026.
Glendora Lucille Herr Kluth, 94, passed away January 22, 2026. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom, Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 27, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Glenda was born November 23, 1931, on the family farm in Tripp, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Theodore and Magdalena Permann Herr. Glenda's dad and grandfather built the home she grew up in. Electricity was added to the home in 1949. Before that, they used coal and corn cobs in the stove to heat the home. Glenda drove her mom's buggy with her light brown pony, Kate, to school each day.

Glenda worked at Denbeste Drug Store in Mitchell, South Dakota for a year. On June 29, 1958, she married Reuben A. Kluth; shortly after they moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Together, they bought their new house in September 1960. Glenda enjoyed bowling, playing Duplicate Bridge and other card games, gardening, and cooking. She was always willing to try a new recipe. Later, she liked watching her grandchildren and volunteering at Truman Elementary. She volunteered at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church cleaning the alter and checking hymnals.

Glenda is survived by her children, Deb (Eddie) Nash, Thomas (Yufan) Kluth and Don (Sandy) Kluth, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Dave (Kelly) Kluth, of Cedar Rapids, Amanda (Jon) York of Tiffin, Jacob Nash of Fitchburg, MA, Amira Nash of Iowa City, Cody Adams of Cedar Rapids, Kelsey (Drew) Anderson of Cedar Rapids; great grandchildren, Payton Kluth, Presley Kluth, Carlee Kluth, Emery York, Cason York and Mason Anderson; brother, Marvin (Karla) Herr; sister-in-law, Leona Schuldt and Mildred (Albert) Wendt. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
