Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory - De Pere on Mar. 28, 2022.
Glenn S. Auguston passed peacefully into eternity at age 90, surrounded by family on March
27, 2022. Glenn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 8, 1931 to Glenn and Camille (Heighstedt) Auguston. He married Ruth Maroney on August 25, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska. They were married for 59 years, and were blessed with five beautiful children, LeAnne, Linda, Kristine, Rick, and Mark.
Glenn attended Dunwoody College of Technology after which he went on to work at Glacier National Park as a truck driver and enjoyed downhill skiing in his spare time.
Glenn had many passions, hobbies, and accomplishments, but he absolutely loved sports. His favorite football team was unsurprisingly the Green Bay Packers, and probably never missed a game. He enjoyed watching his daughters participate in swimming and track, and watching his sons play hockey. He also attended his grandchildren's many sporting and musical events over the years.
He volunteered for various organizations, primarily De Pere Youth Hockey and later the De Pere Christian Outreach, where he spent much of his time as the muscles of the operation. Glenn worked and owned a franchise in National Car Rental before his retirement in 2008.
Glenn absolutely adored his 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He spent countless hours practicing football and soccer with them, and helping design and build cars for the Pinewood Derby. Even at the end of his life, when he was unable to play with his grandchildren, he would often say, "They are fun to watch."
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Camille; and his brother-in-law Scott Raymond. Glenn is survived by his wife, Ruth Auguston; his sister, Barbara Raymond; his five children and their spouses, LeAnne (Russ) LaCrosse, Linda (Kevin) Kalinec, Kristine Auguston, Rick (Margaret) Auguston, and Mark (Carrie) Auguston; his brothers-in-law and their wives, Donald (Florence) Maroney, Gale (Rosie) Maroney, and Roger (Patricia) Maroney; his grandchildren, Laura (Shane) Meulemans, Victoria (Kegan) O'Donnell, Kari (Wyatt) Duffy, Scott Kalinec, Averie Kalinec, Erin Kalinec, Carlin Kalinec, Trent (Tania) Auguston, Taylor (Lily) Auguston, Kailey (Jordan) Newland, Ryan (Justine) Murphy, and Mitchell Auguston; and his great-grandchildren Whitney, Brooke, Jarrett, Reese, Emberlee, Daisha, Charlotte, Kalani, Makoa, Alexis, Chloe, Zarik, Ryker, Stella, Sawyer, Oliver, Cristina, Simon, Ruth, Lucas, and Theo; and many nieces and nephews.
