Glenn Beard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Covington Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Glenn Allen Beard, 63, of Munford, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. Born on August 14, 1962, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to Reverend James William Beard and Margie Louise Haynes Beard, Glenn lived a life marked by love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.
Glenn was a beloved husband to Carla Kennedy Beard, his partner in life and love for 43 years. He was a proud and devoted father to his three sons: Jordan (Carrie), Mitchell (Lisa), and Russell (Taylar). His greatest joy came from being "GeePaw" to his six cherished grandchildren: Aubrey, Ollie, Charlotte, Cooper, Theo, and Judson, who brought light and laughter to his days. He also leaves behind one aunt, Millie Haynes Freeze; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, for whom he cared deeply. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings-Rickey, Charlotte, Daphne, and Merle-whose memories he carried with him always.
A devoted follower of Christ, Glenn lived his faith with humility, joy, and compassion. Outside of various business management roles throughout his life, he spent the majority of his career as an ordained minister, pouring his heart into youth ministry, leading worship, and singing in the church choir. His love for the Lord was evident not only in his words, but in the way he lived-always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a warm smile. Through his ministry and daily life, Glenn touched countless hearts and pointed others toward grace and hope.
He was also known for his loving heart, caring nature, and deep compassion. His outgoing spirit and sense of humor could brighten any room, and he had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued. Whether sharing a story, offering encouragement, or simply being present, Glenn lived with intention and generosity.
Glenn's legacy is one of kindness, laughter, steadfast faith, and deep devotion to family. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide those who loved him.
A celebration of Glenn's life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Munford Baptist Church, 1253 Munford Ave., Munford, TN 38058. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Helen Crigger Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or a charitable organization of your choosing.
This isn't a goodbye-but as GeePaw and his grandkids would always say to each other: "See you later, alligator! Afterwhile, crocodile!"
