Glenn Alden Bilby

Glenn Alden Bilby, 78 of Weirton, WV, passed peacefully away on Friday, April 25, 2025 at his daughter's house under the care of his family with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice after a long battle from his exposure to Agent Orange during his service to the country during Vietnam War.
Glenn was born on September 28, 1946. He was the son of the late Glenn Patterson Bilby and Maxine Cecil (Taylor) Bilby.
Glenn served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Seabee received numerous medals to include National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Fleet Marine Force Combat Operations Insignia and Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960. He came home from the war and started his own business of Glenn Bilby Construction. Glenn worked seven days a week and loved it. He was the definition of a hardworking man.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Dora Yvonne (Riter) Bilby, a son, Aaron Troy Bilby and two siblings, Wayne and Darrell Bilby. Glenn is survived by his two children, Laura Burdine and her husband, Joe of Beech Bottom and Glenn K. Bilby and his wife, Christy of Follansbee, WV, six grandchildren, Calvin and his wife, Hannah, Kevin and Kyle Burdine and his fiancée, Kyleigh Williams, Ryan and Alaina Bilby and Aaron Bilby, two step grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Tucker, two great grandchildren, Jack and Callum, a sister, Loretta Brynza and her husband, Joe and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Pastor Ron Swiger, officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery Haven of Rest with Military Honors by the United States Navy and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
