Glenn Robert Campbell, a cherished soul whose life spanned over eight decades, age 82, passed away peacefully on the 15th of August, 2025, at Shelby Manor. He was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina, on February 16, 1943. As the sun set on his remarkable journey, Glenn leaves behind a legacy woven with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
The son of the late John Campbell and Kathleen Griffin Campbell, Glenn was nurtured in a household where values of hard work and compassion were ingrained. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosanne Scism Campbell, who brought joy and love into his life, and by his daughter, Lisa Campbell Hair, whose memory continues to illuminate the hearts of those who knew her, one grandson, Craig Page, who was always a big part of Glenn's life. Craig left a legacy of love to all who knew him. Accompanying Glenn in eternal rest are his brother Wayne and sister Rachel, who shared in the fabric of his formative years.
In life, Glenn was blessed with a loving family that stands as a testament to his nurturing spirit. He is survived by his devoted son, Kelly Campbell, and daughter-in-law, Kelly from Belmont, NC, and his dear daughter, Cindy Freeman, along with her husband David, from Oak Island, NC. These steadfast children undoubtedly reflect Glenn’s values and kindness, continuing to carry forth his legacy of love.
The warmth of Glenn’s heart is also encapsulated in his bond with his siblings: Alvin, Barry, Steve, Evelyn, Marlon, Patricia, Wanda, and Vickey, each of whom hold memories of laughter and familial ties that have nurtured them through time. His grandchild Thomas and wife Susan, along with Stephanie, Grace and her husband Hunter, and Layne, are further embodiments of his spirit—a loving grandfather whose presence will ever remain luminous in their lives.
With great care and reverence, the funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Allen Davis at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory, located at 2518 W Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC, on August 20, 2025. The visitation begins at 3:00 PM, followed by the service at 4:00 PM. In honoring the fullness of Glenn’s life, we will then proceed to commemorate him at Lattimore Baptist, where the burial will commence at 5:00 PM. It is a day destined to bring together those who cherished Glenn, as stories of his integrity and compassion mingle with shared tears and laughter.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Glenn Robert Campbell, let us carry forward the values he instilled in us. A gentle spirit who touched the lives of many, Glenn is now embraced by the love of those who departed this earthly realm before him. He will be dearly missed yet lovingly remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known him.
