Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory IncMr. Earl Glenn Greene Jr. 78, of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday Dec 2, 2025 , in the presence of his family.
Glenn was born on May 31, 1947 to Earl Glenn Greene Sr. and Mary Margaret Pollock Greene along with older brother Ben in Lenoir County NC.
After growing up on his family farm, he attended Methodist College where he met his wife Anne Holmes Topping (Greene). After graduation he tried many different careers including working for Pilot Life insurance, running tanks for the National Guard, probation officer, and even professional photographer. He really found his calling when he earned his Master’s of Counseling and began working as a substance abuse counselor for Bethesda Halfway House.
Glenn enjoyed spending his free time net fishing off Harker’s Island, watching his beloved Redskins football team, taking pictures for Nascar, and in his later years spending time with his grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Mary-Anne Holmes Greene and her husband Joe Greene of Fayetteville, his daughter Elizabeth Greene McCorquodale and her husband Wayman Douglas McCorquodale of Fayetteville, grandchildren Edward Glenn Greene and Emma Holmes Greene,and brother Dr. Benjamin Franklin Greene and sister-in-law Dianne Greene of Southern Pines. He is preceded in death by his wife Anne, his parents, and many life long friends.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Sandy Saunders and Rev. Susie Reeder is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday Dec 20, 2025 at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church with a family visitation at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, Glenn had requested that memorial donations be made to Bethesda Inc. 204 North Pine Street, Aberdeen, NC 28315.
