Glenn Franklin Hamilton, 91, of
Cloverport, KY left this earthly world to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 30, 2024. He was born in Easton, KY on December 2, 1932, to the late Sam Henry and Marie Smith Hamilton.
Glenn was a member of the Cloverport Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer for 40 years and was a member of the Administrative Board since becoming a member of the church.
He worked at Willamette Industries where he retired after 30 years. After retirement Glenn continued working as a Real Estate Broker and Auctioneer. He was also an entrepreneur in the community owning several businesses including Hamilton & Son Plumbing Store, where he was a Master Plumber, Hamilton Realty and Auction, Hamilton Flea Market and Hamilton Rentals. To help beautify and provide housing for the community, Glenn built several single and multi-family homes.
Glenn was very active in the Cloverport community. He was a member of the Cloverport Masonic Lodge, the Optimist Club and served on the Sacajawea Festival Board. Glenn served as a Councilman for Cloverport for many years. In 2009 he was voted Man of the Year at the Sacajawea Festival. Glenn was also commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Martha Layne Collins in 1984.
Above all he loved his family. Glenn attended many sporting events and other activities to support his children and grandchildren throughout his life.
Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife Anna L. Hamilton, a son Timothy W. Hamilton and a grandson J. Andrew Kast. Also preceding him in death was his foster son, Louis Lindsay; his foster grandson, Sheldon Sharp and his siblings Chloe, Gene, Tad, Jimmy and Tinsy.
Those left behind to cherish Glenn's life and his precious memories are his daughters Beverly (Hal) Jennings of
Cloverport, KY; Glenda (Kevin) Kebortz of Rockport, IN; a daughter in law Sherry Hamilton of Lexington, KY and a foster daughter Terrie (Dwight) Sharp of Hawesville, KY and his sister Sharon (Damone) Thurman of
Cloverport, KY.
Grandchildren are Dr. Dustin (Beth) Hamilton of Louisville, KY; Misty (John) Eisiminger of Lexington, KY; Dana Jennings of
Cloverport, KY; Hal F. (Jennifer) Jennings of Falls of Rough, KY; Dr. Kristopher Kast of Nashville TN; Lindsay Kast of
Oakland, CA and a foster grandchild Shelby (Krystal) Sharp of Hawesville KY.
Great Grandchilren are Emmy, Lily, Nati, David, Bo and Jack Hamilton; Jared and Sadie Eisiminger; Alex Duke and Jaclyn Smith (Magnus) and Zaden, Brantley and Tobi Mae Sharp.
Great Great Grandchildren are Henry and Sophia Duke and Claire Smith.
Also a very dear, special friend, Ailene Corley.
Visitation will be held at the Cloverport Funeral Home, 208 East Main Street,
Cloverport, KY on Friday, April 5th from 4 to 8 P.M. CST and Saturday, April 6th at the Cloverport Methodist Church from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. CST.
Funeral services will be held at the Cloverport Methodist Church, 801 Elm Street,
Cloverport, KY on April 6th at 2 P.M. CST. With Rev. Marvin Lagle officiating. Burial to follow at Cloverport Cemetery.
Per Glenn's wishes, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Cloverport Methodist Church, 801 Elm Street,
Cloverport, KY.
