GLENN MARSHALL HENDRICKSON

1932 - 2026

Glenn Marshall Hendrickson, 94, of Addison, N.Y. passed away at his home on January 26, 2026. He was born January 2, 1932, in Westfield, and was a son to the late Wayne and Vernice (McNaughton) Hendrickson. Glenn married Christine M. Allen in 1954, spending 71 loving years together. Glenn worked at the Elkland Tannery for a handful of years before joining the United States Navy. He was a proud Navy Veteran serving from 1949-1953 and then rejoining again from 1965-1985. While in the military he was a builder in the construction battalion. This allowed him to travel all around the world doing what he loved most - building. He was an avid builder and loved seeing his handy work; while working at the Tannery he helped a few of his coworkers build each other's houses and he even built the house he and his wife lived in for the past several years. Later on, Glenn attended a Construction School in Pennsylvania to gain more expertise and knowledge on building.
He also enjoyed helping with Woodhull Community Days several years ago, watching TV, talking with his grandchildren over the phone, and eating at the Ridge Runner Café in Elkland. Glenn was a member of the Elkland Senior Citizen Club, Club 63, before they dismantled during Covid and he was an American Legion member for several years as well.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Hendrickson of Addison, N.Y.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Roberta Smith of Corning, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; two children, Lisa Smith and Michael Hendrickson; and two brothers, Duane and Kermit Hendrickson.
At this time, a memorial service is planned for the spring with more information to follow. Memorial donations can be made to the Coates Heritage House Museum at 111 East Main Street, Elkland, PA 16920 or to the American Legion Post 428 at 117 Coates Ave - Suite 118, Elkland, PA 16920.
