Glenn Stephen King "Steve", 73 of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on

September 17, 2025.

He grew up in Wilmington in the Winter Park area. Throughout his life, Steve was known for his kindness, dedication to help others, honesty, gentleness, and his big smile. Steve built a life filled with love for his family and God. He spent his career of 37 years being a barber at Hampstead Barber and Beauty Shop. His greatest love besides his wife and family was golf. His golf career began when he was a toddler with his dad. He was a dedicated player at Wilmington Municipal Golf Course every week with his favorite buddies. Also, in the last couple of years he began playing on a local pool league.

Steve is survived by his wife Donna Sellers King, son John King, and bonus children

Benjamin Cook, Jr., Rachel Poleo, Jessica Jakaitis (Sam) and brother-in-law Randy Chin. He was a devoted "Grumpy" to 9 Grandchildren.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents John and Helen King, brother John King, Jr, and sister Millicent Chin.

A funeral service will be held on September 21, 2025 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church at 1:30 PM. Food and Fellowship will follow at Long Leaf Park Shelter #3 at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Steve's life.

Special thanks to The ALS Clinic and Dr. Karrie Grear, the in-home hospice team, Nurse Carol, CNA Brianna and the staff at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

As Steve would say - I thank God for this sober day!
