Glenn C. Klinedinst
DOVER – Glenn Carroll Klinedinst, 85, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy, PA, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Alice F. (Gross) Klinedinst. The couple celebrated 66 years of marriage on October 11, 2024.
Mr. Klinedinst was born March 5, 1939 in Springfield Township, York County, PA and was the son of the late William and Elsie (Shaffer) Klinedinst.
He graduated in 1957 from Dallastown Senior High School in Dallastown, PA. He retired in 1994 from Met-Ed after 33 years of service as a lineman. He played and coached baseball and was inducted into the York Central League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997. He was a member of the Viking Club in West York and Shiloh American Legion Post #791. Glenn was a passionate outdoorsman, often found hunting and fishing, particularly at his hunting camp in Potter County, PA, which he adored for its natural beauty. His love for the outdoors was a significant part of his life, providing him with both relaxation and adventure. He enjoyed traveling and exploring the world. Glenn was a fun-loving people-person who never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Klinedinst is survived by his daughters, Arlene Klinedinst Baragona and her husband, Thomas of Norfolk, VA, Anita Richardson and her husband, Nicholas of Towson, MD, and Amy Gill of
Dover, PA; four grandchildren, Matthew Richardson and his wife, Madison McMann, William Richardson and his fiancé Lauren Schmeider, Benjamin Gill, and Anna Baragona; and his two brothers, Richard Klinedinst (Nancy) of Bethlehem, PA, and Harold Klinedinst (Ruth) of Schnecksville, PA. Glenn is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Klinedinst, Dale Klinedinst, Robert Klinedinst, and William Klinedinst, and his sisters, Kathryn Garrett, and Mary Seifert.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Glenn's memorial service at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 47 North Queen Street,
Dover, PA. Officiating at his service will be Chaplain Tricia McMackin of Hospice & Community Care. Burial will follow in Wolf's Covenant Church Cemetery in York, PA, officiated by Reverend Dr. Eric Palmquist from Wolf's Covenant Church.​
