Glenn F. Korynta, 68, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, formerly of Cavalier, North Dakota, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023 at his home in Grand Forks. Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Glenn was born July 26, 1955, in Hazen, ND, to Frank and Helen (Chapiewski) Korynta. He moved to Cavalier when his father was transferred there with Nodak Electric. He attended Cavalier High School and after graduating he worked for Jeff Stevenson at the service station. Glenn married Sherry Becker and they had one son, Matthew. After moving to Grand Forks, Glenn went to work for Nodak Rural Electric, where he worked until his retirement.
In his retirement years he enjoyed going to car shows and spending time with the “5 o’clock social group.” He will be missed by many friends.
He is survived by his son, Matthew; ex-wife, Sherry; sisters: Gladys (Wayne) Trottier and Gwen Hartje; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Grace Stromli; and brother-in-law, Mark Hartje.
